Speculation began months ago, but NorthJersey.com and Bloomfield Life report that Bloomfield Board of Education Superintendent Frank Digesere has resigned. His decision leaves vacant the top schools post in Bloomfield just weeks ahead of a fresh school year. Digesere will return as superintendent to his hometown, Kearny, where his career had spanned more than three decades prior to his foray into Bloomfield and which included a stint as principal of Kearny High School. From the reports:
Digesere said the contract covers “the remainder of this year plus three more years.” According to Ken Lindenfelfer, board of education (BOE) attorney for Kearny, Digesere will draw $195,000 in his first year, along with a 3.5 percent raise for the last three years on his contract.
He currently makes over $188,000 as Bloomfield’s superintendent. Included with his Bloomfield contract is a clause requiring 120 days’ notice before he leaves. However, the BOE has the option of scaling back the number of days to expedite hiring a new superintendent.
Digesere says his decision to move on stems in part from philosophical differences between himself and the Bloomfield BOE. He has openly sparred with several BOE members in recent public meetings.

Digesere gives Kearny the shaft then comes to Bloomfield. Since the Bloomfield BOE is incompetant, Digesere is hired for the absorbanent salary of $188,000.000. Now Degerese gives Bloomfield the shaft and, unbelievably, Kearny hires this bozo back for and incredible $195,000.000…with a 3.5 percent raise for the last three years. I am floored at the wastefulness and incompetance of both Kearny’s and Bloomfield’s BOE. Once again, Bloomfield’s taxpayer’s dollars have been wasted and the school children screwed. Seems like the position of Bloomfield School Superintendant is nothing but a moneymaking stepping-stone.
I wouldn’t want to see anyone earn over 100k for any administration position.
