You know those travel guides that suggest full itineraries, telling you where you should go to eat, for example, after you've visited the Tower of London? Well, now we have one for Montclair, and it's being marketed this month as a Montclair Staycation. A stay-all-day guide for grownups starts at 11 am at Diamond Cycle, where you can rent a bike. Then it takes you past a number of cultural destinations, like Brassworks and the Charles Schultz house, suggests lunch at Ruthie's and a snack at Chocolate Path, before returning the bike at 6 pm.
The Montclair Staycation is the current theme of Destination Montclair, run by the Arts Council, which won a $13,000 state tourism grant last year to develop the site. It includes a list of 10 free events as well as a calendar. (Today is Cyndi Lauper and Rosie O'Donnell at the Wellmont.)
So if you've been downsized, or just decided to forgo an expensive trip this year, save on gas and join a running/walking tour of historical sites in Montclair this Sunday at 11 am in front of Fleet Feet, 603 Bloomfield Ave., or take in a puppet show at Edgemont Park the following Sunday.

Geez, for a minute there I thought it was the house of Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz.
Just had a bit of a read of this - and have decided to go and make myself a pretty necklace this week at the Beadworks. I haven't done any jewelry making for years - really looking forward to spening a coupl eof hous making (especially if they sell a nice coffee to enjoy too!)
