Montclair Rock & Rollers Have Their Own "I.P.O." Montclair area musicians Tracy Herrick, Bill Eveleth & Kirk Woodward release their rock band's new CD, "3rdValve: I.P.O." (Initial Public Offering!) and perform Saturday at the Ringside Pub in Caldwell. "3rdValve" is an 11 piece rock cover band with three horns, full rhythm section, percussion/congas and three lead vocalists. Sunday, September 20, Michael Aquino will host Indie Music Circus, a monthly showcase for independent musicians at Luna Stage's temporary performance space, 406 Tompkins Street in Orange, NJ. Ambrose Liu, Joe Rathbone and will be featured this month.
Scott Gordley at Gallery 51: Scott Gordley is the Chair of Art and Design at Montclair State University. He began his career in New York as an illustrator. In 1999 a retrospective of his work was held at a in Vienna. Gordley showed at the Museum of American Illustration in NYC and was recently honored by inclusion both the Society of Illustrators 48th Annual and in the American Illustration anthology: Best of American Illustration Anthologies 24 and 26. Most recently, Scott had a solo exhibition at the Apollo Theatre featuring his "Legends of Jazz" series. Kristine Massari, owner of Trumpets, will show how to include work on special music sites such as MakinMusic.com. Andy McDonough the founder of NJJazzList.com, a new interactive internet project that supports jazz performances and events around New Jersey. The project includes a community-driven website where musicians can post their 'gigs', while venues and arts organizations can use it to announce other jazz-centric activities.
