Hey, all you creative types – how would you like to see your artsy creation all over Montclair this holiday season, in everyone’s hands? Shop Local Montclair, in collaboration with Montclair Arts Council, has announced a cool juried art contest that incorporates “shopping locally” with “giving locally.”
SLM is looking for an original design representing a creative interpretation of “shopping locally.” The winning design will appear on thousands of SLM bags that will be given to shoppers during this holiday season.
What the winner wins: local celebrity, to start. But there’s more: a $250 gift certificate to any SLM shop, art studio, or restaurant, and SLM will donate $250 to the winner’s favorite local charity. Interested? Then get started now — the deadline is September 30. All the details to enter are here.
Meanwhile, the Glen Ridge Historical Society asks us to remind you that the deadline is coming up soon for its annual photo contest.

And if you want some inspiration, here’s the latest visual witticism by Kelly DelRosso, owner of Semplice and mastermind of Shop Local Montclair.

I'm starting to see that our political strife on this planet and definitely here on B'net is due to a lack or abundance of Oxytocin. We can't help what we do or think, our bodies, dna, etc. are running the show. We are meat puppets to our hormonal & chemical urges. In the words of the immortal Bela Lugosi...."Pull dee string, pull dee string!" PAZ in Ed Wood land.
