Police Captain Sues Bloomfield for $750,000

Bloomfield Police Capt. Chris Goul has filed a $750,000 lawsuit against the town of Bloomfield, alleging that he lost the police chief job to Mark Leonard in January because of a “civil conspiracy” against him.
The lawsuit alleges that Bloomfield violated open meetings laws because Leonard met privately with some council members before he was received the promotion. Goul scored .8 of a point higher than Leonard on a Civil Service Commission test.
The township has officially declined comment. More details on NJ.com.

Wow, he scored almost a point higher on a test. That’s should’ve been a slam dunk!

Sounds like he’s whining because he didn’t get a promotion he wanted. He still has a job, and many people don’t these days.

Bloomfield has recently put a PR firm on the job specifically to handle all the media inquiries the town gets. I think they pay $5,00 per month. So for all that money, Bloomfield has “no comment”?

At least he thought that the conspiracy was civil!

Especially since very little concerning the Bloomfield Township Council these days resembles anything civil.

It’s always something in Bloomfield. As a Bloomfield resident, I can say this. We put new meaning into the term “dysfunctional.”

I would love to see Santorum get the nod. Maybe then the politically comatose members of society will wake up.
