Weekend Round-up: Montclair Gallery Walk, Cajun Fest, Ladino Music

Montclair's Annual Gallery Walk is tonight, from 6-9 p.m. Montclair's many eclectic galleries invite you to A Little Night Art IV. Meet at the Montclair Art Museum to board the "Art Bus" to take self-guided tours of nine galleries. Free, sponsored by Montclair Arts Council. Details here.

Cajun Dance Lessons at Kasser Theater, MSU: The Alexander Kasser Theater will be turned into a wildly energetic dance hall for audiences tomorrow, October 24 when Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole and Feufollet, two Lafayette, Louisiana-based bands, join forces to perform Creole and Cajun music. Before the show--between 4pm and 6pm -- free lessons in Cajun/Zydeco dance will be given in the Memorial Auditorium on the Montclair State University campus. An event for all ages.

Postponed Due To Rain Forecast: "Strut Your Mutt" Canine Halloween Costume Contest and Parade: Originally scheduled for Saturday, October 24, this event has been postponed to Saturday, October 31. For more information, please call 973-268-3500.

The Sarah Aroeste Band performs Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) music tomorrow at Temple Ner Tamid's first Havdallah Cafe, at 7:30 p.m. Aroeste fuses 15th-century Ladino folk songs with rock, funk, jazz and blues - music that spans the Mediterranean in an exotic
blend of East and West. Catch a preview on Youtube. Tickets are $25 in advance, available at the Temple office, $30 at the door. BYOB. They'll provide the grape leaves, pita and hummus. Temple Ner Tamid, 936 Broad Street, Bloomfield, 973-338-1500.

The Watchung Plaza Halloween Parade is scheduled for 11am tomorrow, rain or shine (don't let it rain...). PG-Scary For Kids: Hauntings on the Hill at Kip's Castle Park - Follow a paranormal investigation through Essex County Kip's Castle to learn the haunted history of this landmark and encounter the spirits found there. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Some special effects may be too intense for certain adults and young children. Hauntings on the Hill will be held rain or shine. Admission is $2 for children under 13 and $5 for adults. Advance registration is required and no refunds will be given. Space is limited. For information or to register, please call 973-239-2485.

Too Scary For Kids: (Adults only) Not in Baristaville, but if you're in the city, you can get spooked at the Merchant's House Museum, October 23, 24, 29, & 30, 6 to 10 p.m. (45 minute tours begin every half hour) Candlelight Ghost Tours of "Manhattan's Most Haunted House." Come see the house The New York Times called "Manhattan's Most Haunted" by flickering candlelight - complete with eerie scenes of mid-19th century death and mourning. You'll find out what paranormal investigations have uncovered and hear about strange and inexplicable occurrences from people who actually experienced them. Not recommended for children. $25, MHM Members $13.

Grand Opening NJ Arts Incubator The New Jersey Arts Incubator is an organization dedicated to the economic and creative growth of performing and visual artists, musicians and writers in New Jersey. They're having a party, Saturday night in West Orange, 7:30 PM - 12:00 AM.
