The Montclair Police reports that Sergio Silverio-Julian, a worker at an apartment complex on Claremont Avenue, fell four stories this morning. He was rushed to Mountainside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward. Silverio-Julian was working on the balcony when he fell. He was 39 years old and from Freehold. We send our condolences to his family.

This is so sad, my sympathies to his family and friends.
I feel for his family.
I wonder if the balcony was structurely secure?
It sure seems unusual.
Simply horrible for the loved ones. I hope
that they are strong emotionally and can find the strength to be able to deal with this accident.
Wow, what a shame. I think another worker fell to his death from an apartment on Valley Rd. a few years ago.
Hey, you never know when 'Dr. D' will pay a visit so let's enjoy the time we have while we have it.
Condonlences to the family.
I cannot understand why I am at 2 votes up and 1 down after stating my concern for the family. Who could possibly object?
Sometimes, the thumbs really don't make sense, Spiro.
I will echo your sentiments in that I do feel for this man's family, especially since losses may be felt more acutely at the holidays.
Thanks Nellie, you are truly a breath of fresh air on Baristanet.
Untimely deaths are always tragic. (Is there ever a "timely" death?)
What is truly senseless is this stupid thumbs rating system - look at the ones above and tell me what value they provide. Stupid.
On the other hand, Pork Roll, the thumbs system could reveal the surprising number of nasty ingrates who frequent the site.
What a sad story..I hope his family can deal with this horror.
And, this thing with the thumbs, really silly...I've noticed many posts that got thumbs down, which made no sense at all...I think people do it, not by what the post says, but mainly just by the name of the person leaving the post...I never understood why this was started..again, really silly, and child like.
I'm sure I'll get a few thumbs down for saying this..go get um folks.
My sincere condolences to Sergio's family and friends. Perhaps stories like this shouldn't have the voting feature.
"number of nasty ingrates who frequent the site."
cuz yur a vituperative dbag....QED
I vote for no comments and no thumbing on the passing of Souls threads.......PAZ in DFW
A tragic event as reported by Baristanet turns into a discussion on the merits of the voting system.
I have a feeling that many of the people that frequent this site are clearly out of touch with reality.
I have a brother who is dying from alcoholism as I write this. Getting thumbs down is not on my list of concerns right now.
I hope you all have a nice day.
I still offer my heartfelt condolences to the family. I can tell you that they are going through hell right now.
Very nice, TP2. Too bad you couldn't offer a kind word of sympathy to this bereaving family.
TP2's comments makes me agree wholeheartedly with Paz that there should be no comments or thumbs on threads where someone passes away.
What is wrong with some of you people?
I think most of the comments on the voting system referred to the fact that it is in bad taste to vote (down)on condolences. I'm sorry to hear about MB2's brother (and I wish him the best), but it doesn't change the validity of the comments on the voting system.
I am so sorry for the victim's family, and will keep them in my thoughts.
MB, you and your brother too--what a painful thing for you and your family to endure.
When the kind hearted Nellie gets a minus 1 rating for her thoughts, you know the vindictive trolls are out. Sorry Nellie.
Spiro,
I second your comment. I believe that this site has attracted a collection of 'dark matter'.
All you need to do is look at the very first comment, by BaristaPet, and you see 16 votes cast, netting zero, meaning 8 thumbs up and 8 thumbs down.
That means that half the voters believe a simple statement of sympathy is enough for a thumbs down.
