The Glen Ridge Board of Education announced its appointment of Michael B. de Leeuw to fill the vacancy left by Tom Agnew's resignation in October today. De Leeuw is a litigation partner at a New York law firm, serves as an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers School of Law, and has taken on pro bono work on education-related issues. He is the father of two children in Glen Ridge schools.
The Montclair Board of Education also announced last night that they have begun interviewing for Marcus Rhaney's replacement at Watchung School.

Congrats, Mike!
Announced a new BOE member? What do you mean, announced? I don't follow.
Walleroo - midterm vacancy, so they appointed the replacement.
It's this word "announcement" that hangs me up. Is that where you appoint something and try and keep it a secret but everybody finds out about it anyway?
Good guy that Mike de Leeuw.
I had no idea that's how he spelled it.
Congratulations, Mike! I know you'll do a wonderful job.
