snow on new year's eve.jpgWill this change your plans for ringing in 2010?

THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING.
THE LEADING EDGE OF PRECIPITATION HAS REACHED CENTRAL NEW JERSEY AND EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND IS MOVING RAPIDLY TO THE NORTHEAST. SNOW WILL DEVELOP IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AND NEW YORK CITY EARLY THIS MORNING… SPREADING EAST THROUGH SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT… THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND LONG ISLAND BY LATE MORNING. THE STEADY SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE DAY MIXING WITH RAIN OVER EASTERN LONG ISLAND AND THE NEW YORK METRO AREA THIS AFTERNOON. BY THE TIME THE STEADY SNOW ENDS THIS EVENING… 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA… WITH 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW EXPECTED OVER THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND INTERIOR CONNECTICUT.

Clever Commuters report a tortuous bus ride in today, and say the helix has been closed.

Don’t take the bus to nyc this morning, unless you have hours and hours to spare.

.. and tonight we’re having a ‘blue’ moon. I wonder if we’ll be able to see it at midnight?

We picked up our girls from a sleepover at Grandma’s house in Bergen County this morning and the roads were awful. Very slippery.

Provided things clear up a bit (should be partly cloudy at midnight), the moon should be clearly visible almost straight up at midnight with Mars just a little beneath it to the east.
Devon, what conditions? Things were fairly snowy earlier, but it’s cleared since then and driving is fine. However, if you are truly terrified, please do not drive, as a hesitant driver is just as dangerous as a reckless one.

I would love to see Santorum get the nod. Maybe then the politically comatose members of society will wake up.
