UPDATE: Stanley has been reunited with his owners.
We’re looking for a little Christmas miracle here, a little cyber magic to connect a lost dog and his owners. David and Candi Schwartz went out this morning and look what they found.
Lost dog found on Christmas morning near Sunset park on Norwood in Upper Montclair. He is a nice big yellow labrador wth a blue collar and no tags. Please help find his owner.

Lucky dog to have someone take him in!

UPDATE: Stanley has been reunited with his owners.
No, sorry, didn’t see…Thank God for the happy ending!
Unfortunately, Stanley is allowed to run loose by his owners. He has been picked up by many, many neighbors and brought back to his home. His owners have been known to say that the neighborhood is his backyard. This has been going on for several years.
Caphilly is right. I live in this neighborhood, and have seen this dog wandering and then “rescued” at least three times now. Sweet dog too. A shame he has such irresponsible owners. What really bugs me is that they don’t even bother to get him a tag with his address and phone number on it.
Perhaps Baristanet should keep a lost dog page with photos of these often loose dogs, along with the phone number of his owners. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before I see Stanley roaming around again.
May the Schwartz be with you, Stanley.
Another Stanley sighting today — saw him wandering around Grove & Summit. Nope, didn’t return him to his owners. Have done so about 4 times. I’m done. Feel bad for the dog but …
I am very sorry to say these dog owners are a sorry bunch. Members of my family and I have found Stanley as far away as the middle of Bellevue Avenue in front of the theatre and brought him home — the owner’s reaction is usually one of anger at the dog for once again running away. Other neighbors have reported near misses by automobiles on many occasions. Stanley roams free and the owners truly could not care less about his health and safety. It is only a matter of time until poor Stanley gets hit by a car. It is really a shame as he is a lovely dog.
My friend just found Stanley yet again on Bellevue Ave. He was shaking and had urine frozen to his leg. My friend fed him and called local vets looking for his owner. When the owner was finally contacted he was “thankful, but felt he causing him more problems.” He feels that he should be able to let the dog the roam neighborhood. This man should not be allowed to own a dog. Poor Stanley. Next time we find him, we will not turn him in.
