The Little Falls cell phone tower saga continued last week.
As of last Wednesday a state superior Court judge agreed to permit Little Falls lawyers and T-Mobile subsidiary company Omnipoint to file written arguments to see if the tower was built legally, northjersey.com reported.
The original plan was to have the 110-foot cell phone tower by Great Notch Fire House on Long Hill Road tower look like a flagpole.
Judge Anthony J. Graziano told both sides that there would be a hearing if a ruling isn’t made based off of the paperwork alone. Graziano, who also overturned the Little Falls Planning Board’s denial of the tower’s application last year, said a decision should be made by the end of February.

There’s lots of ugly in the accompanying picture, but the cell tower is the least of the problems.
I would prefer that more towers were builts so that service was better and there were many competing cellphone companies. My backyard would be a great place for a tower.

I would allow a tower built on my property, too, but I would prefer it under my house, with a long spiral staircase down to the ground.

The issue is the design of the cell tower…..and yes there are alternative structures that can blend into the community – you can view some possibilities at the following links:
Examples of alternative designs can be viewed at these two sites:

Arnie: I think these stealth antennas are stupid. Antennas should look like antennas. It is part of a visual cacophony that adds to our lives.
    Build more antennas higher.

“Gregory Czura, a lawyer for Omnipoint — a subsidiary of T-Mobile — said by speakerphone that the township fully participated in the design and construction of the monopole cell tower, and that he has a paper trail to back it up.”
For some reason I believe this individual, not the hack politicians looking to secure a few extra votes………
P.S Arnie, aesthetically pleasing/blend into the community = MORE COSTS

The fake tree antennae are just awful….they all look like big hair dryer attachments and seem like a booby prize awarded to whomever opposed the cell tower being constructed in the first place.

Nice little town, Sandy. 1/4 the size of Bloomfield with a nice walkable downtown, great High School, a good chunk of MSU, and MUCH lower property taxes.

I would love to see Santorum get the nod. Maybe then the politically comatose members of society will wake up.
