This just came in from NJ Transit, following Amtrak power problems this morning which stopped train service to and from Penn Station.
NJ TRANSIT rail service in and out of New York Penn Station is being restored as of 12:07 p.m., following an earlier Amtrak power problem near New York. Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Midtown Direct service is resuming a regular weekday schedule subject to residual delays.
In addition, Midtown Direct trains have resumed operation into and out of New York. Main/Bergen/Port Jervis/Pascack Valley customers may transfer at Secaucus for service to New York.
NJ TRANSIT is monitoring the situation and will keep customer informed of any potential impact to the afternoon peak period. Customers are encouraged to listen to news broadcasts or go to www.njtransit.com for the latest service information. Service information is also available by calling 973-275-5555.
