Theodore Frederick Cox, owner of Cedar Grove Garden Center, passed away on Friday. He was 82.
Cox was born in 1928 in Glen Ridge, and was a resident of North Caldwell. He and his family own and operate the Cedar Grove Garden Center, which has been in the Cox family for five generations.
He leaves behind his wife, Shirley, and three children, Ted Jr., Wendy and Stacey.
His funeral is planned for Friday, April 30, at 3:00pm, at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Essex Fells. For the full address and details, click here.

May he rest in peace. The garden center is a delight to anyone who has visited it or purchased any of their trees or plants.
Memorial service will be at St. Peter’s, Essex Fells on Friday at 3 pm, not at St Agnes Church.
I loved Ted’s wit, his love of a good story, his integrity and honesty and his happy smile. I will also never forget his very OLD station wagon with the PLANTS license plate…..he finally bought a knew one but did say the old one was the best!
My prayers and blessings to the Cox family. Ted, you’ll be remembered fondly. May you rest in peace.
Peace,
Stella Blue
