According to the FBI’s BanditTracker.com two of Baristaville’s most wanted bank robbery suspects — whose names have not yet been released — have been apprehended in relation to a rash of recent hold ups, including this month’s PNC incident and the one in June at Wachovia in Bloomfield. The suspects, along with additional individuals, may have also teamed up for a number of other area heists, including the Kearny Federal Savings Bank on Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange on July 23.
The FBI has no further statement at this time, but is anticipating more information from the US Attorney’s office soon. We’ll update when we hear back.

On Monday 08/09/2010, at 4:00 PM an attempted bank robbery occurred at the PNC Bank at 424 Broad Street, Bloomfield, New Jersey. The suspect was described as a White male, 5’10, wearing a black stocking mask and white baseball cap, white shirt, white t-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. He carried a black revolver and a white plastic bag. The supect entered the bank and demanded cash. The bank robber then fled the location on foot, without receiving any loot.

On 07/23/2010, at approximately 11:20 AM, a white male wearing a black nylon stocking as a mask and wearing all black robbed the Kearny Federal Savings Bank, 487 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ. The man walked in brandishing a black semi-automatic weapon and carrying a white plastic bag, and made an oral demand for money at the teller station. The man, approximately 6’0″, 200 lbs, fled on foot after receiving cash.

Not for nothing, but do these guys actually think that putting a nylon over their head will actually disguise their identity? I mean, really – at least wear a full mask, like a Freddy Kruger or a gorilla or something. duh!
