Quick, go outside.
Yes, I mean you.
Leave your desk, bed, car, train, bus or whatever and walk — no run — to the nearest exit. Switch to a portable computer, shut off the TV, stop folding laundry or stick your head out a window, for heaven’s sake. Just quit being indoors for a minute (or longer).
There’s GOOD news today — it’s beautiful outside and promises to stay that way through the next ten days, according to the The Weather Channel.
We know from our “Extend My NJ Summer” contest that a lot of you haven’t quite had enough beach or R&R yet this season. By all means, enter for a chance to win a 2-night stay at Cape May’s Carroll Villa Hotel before September 3. Beyond that, though, just go out and play…
Here’s the Weather.com’s forecast for Baristaville:

BTW, Weather.com doesn’t (yet) have a search for the category of Baristaville, so this forecast is for Glen Ridge. To the best of my meteorological calculations, this same weather pattern will apply to all of Essex County and points down the shore. If you find that not to be the case, send a detailed documentation of the weather you experience, complete with photos, thermometer readings (both celsius and fahrenheit, please), charts and graphs that prove otherwise here and I’ll issue an official retraction.
Now, get outside Baristaville!

No. I don’t want to go outside. Besides, I’ll lose my WiFi.
C’mon, Walleroo, you mean to say you don’t have a handheld device? It’s so freeing to be able to comment on Baristanet from anywhere in the world… although maybe you’re just an indoor type, as the comment suggests. In that case, nevermind.
Roo’s wi-fi only works Under the porch, not in front of it!
OK OK I’m leaving now
I’m headed out but only to go to the dentist.
I’m on vakay next week, so “yay!”
This is good news…I will hold onto summer for as long as I can.
Thanks for the invitation, blmfldgirl, but at that hour I was working and steaming in the big city and hadn’t even begun the arduous journey home.
