Open houses are back with a vengeance in Baristaville this weekend after largely taking last Labor Day weekend off. With over 100 open houses this Sunday, this weekend has something for everyone. Here, open houses today at the lowest and highest price – and a few notable ones in between.

465-73 Valley St., unit 3D, Maplewood
List Price: $148,000
Taxes: $3,019
Lot Size: 0
1BR/1BA

This five-room condominium is located in a high-rise building with an elevator, and comes with an assigned garage. The condo, though perfunctory, has an updated look and decent closet space. Association fees are $304 per month. Open house from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

16 Woodside Terrace, West Orange
List Price: $274,900
Taxes: $7,841
Lot Size: 0.12 Acres
3BR/1BA
This seven-room Colonial looks much more expensive than it is, with rich wood paneling and trim, a fireplace, sunroom, plentiful natural light and a New York City view in winter. Why so inexpensive? The kitchen is not nearly as stately as the rest of the house, and there is only one bathroom and no garage. Open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

12 Lorraine St., Glen Ridge
List Price: $429,900
Taxes: $11,165
Lot Size: 0.09 Acres
4BR/2BA

This eight-bedroom English Colonial mixes old and new to great, all-around success. The ca. 1935 house has hardwood floors, built-in china cabinets, a leaded glass window and a wood burning hearth. Newer attributes include energy efficient Anderson windows. A finished basement, detached one car garage and deck round out this property, which is close to Carteret Park and the jitney to New York City transit. Open house 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

109 Irving Ave., South Orange
List Price: $749,900
Taxes: $19,279
Lot Size: 0.36 Acres
5BR/3 full baths, 2 half baths

Located on a corner, wooded lot in the Montrose section, this just-listed 13-room Tudor has high ceilings, central air and a two-car garage. Not everyone will love some of the interior paint and wallpaper choices, but the shady, serene, secluded backyard is a winner. Open house 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

31 Farbrook Dr., Short Hills
List Price: $2,995,000
Taxes: $29,463
Lot Size: 0.64 Acres
6BR/6.5BA

Just built this year, this 12-room, 8,000-sq. ft. Colonial has it all: a three-car garage, furnished basement, central air, walk-in closets, a whirlpool and glossy magazine-worthy kitchen. The first floor has 10-ft. ceilings; there’s 9-ft. ceilings on the second floor. Open house 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

I'm starting to see that our political strife on this planet and definitely here on B'net is due to a lack or abundance of Oxytocin. We can't help what we do or think, our bodies, dna, etc. are running the show. We are meat puppets to our hormonal & chemical urges. In the words of the immortal Bela Lugosi...."Pull dee string, pull dee string!" PAZ in Ed Wood land.
