Using the same back-door point of entry as other recent burglaries in Maplewood, a home at 122 Oakview Avenue was robbed this morning, 10/29, according to police.
While it was initially believed that the burglary was still “in progress” when the police arrived, they later confirmed that the house was empty. Residents were not home at the time of the break-in.
At around 12:15, the K-9 unit left the scene, while other police remained to canvass neighbors to see if anyone saw any suspicious activity. Observers noticed that the police politely picked up the morning paper from the front walks of those they questioned, adding a friendly presence to the crime scene.
