Lt. Scott Buehler
Montclair Police Department

I am in Bloomfield. We have nothing like all that, above. Yes, perhaps 3-5 a week, but not all of that. Livingston…I resd the town paper while in Dr’s. office, reported a disorderly drunk, and an attempted car stolen. END. Maplewood had a person steal something out of a store, and someone had their outdoor patio furniture stolen. A Jeep Grand Cherokee was an atempted robbery – but it’s alarm scared the bad boy away
ncompare that to Montclair !! Bloomfield had 85% less than the above.
I think it all depends where you’re reading… seems like sometimes newspapers only report the interesting ones… Here’s Bloomfield’s list of 16 various crimes for last week: http://www.northjersey.com/news/105265178_Bloomfield_Life__Police_blotter__Oct__19.html?c=y&page=1
no doubt montclair is hood, so weird given a decent school system. seems like gang activity, drug traffic, and crime in general is all on the rise. what i dont get is how in this age of information (and everyone has access) someone makes the conscious choice to be a gangsta, it is so obviously counter intuitive these days its absurd. i know there is no answer, society will always have delinquents, but it is still upsetting.
Anyone know why there was a police helicopter flying around and shining a light around Watsessing park at 8-8:30?
njrover…… WHOAaa, So Sorry ~ I didn’t see all of THAT !
I tell ‘ya, it really stinks not to be able to live in Short Hills or Llewelyn Park in W.O.
Who robs a house on New St? And when the resident doesn’t even realize his home is in disarray, or that the door has been kicked in, what does that say about the people who are being robbed? The only thing I can think of being taken out of a home on New St are drugs and illegal guns, none of which would be reported
