It’s a great visual image, to think of the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens lit by jack-o-lantern in the autumnal darkness.
That’s what you’ll see if you visit tomorrow evening, October 29, between 6 and 9 p.m. The event, called “Garden Aglow” celebrates the fall re-blooming of Presby’s Remontant Irises, and of course, halloween.
On display will be elaborately carved botanic, floral and nature-themed pumpkins, created by local artists. Community members are invited to bring their own (botanical or nature-themed) pumpkin carvings to add to the collection. The Jack-O-lanterns will line the flower beds throughout the gardens. Essex County is providing the candles.
There will be activities for children, live music and seasonal refreshments. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: most imaginative, most elaborate, and most artistic.

This looks really nice. FYI, I clicked on the link and sent an email to pre-register and got a response saying it’s not necessary. It’s okay to just show up.
Thank you Jersey, I was going to ask. Maybe you need to register your pumpkins
Jimmy, I plan on leaving my pumpkins at home. Seriously, they only requested writing your name, in marker, on the bottom of your pumpkin.
