Your dog will forgive you for dressing him or her up in costume just this once, especially if treats are involved–and it’s for a good cause. St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center’s October Tails, the annual Halloween-themed dog walk fund raiser, will be held in Verona Park on Sunday, Oct. 24.
The walk is sponsored by Animal Emergency and Referral Associates of Fairfield and the Animal Eye Center of Little Falls. Proceeds will fund Paws for Patients, a canine therapy program for hospice patients and their families.
The walk will be held from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., and the rain date is Saturday, Oct 30. For more information, call 973-322-4792 or visit the event’s web site.

This is going to be a wonderful day out! I love the Halloween costume theme – just need to find my little ones something to wear (usually that’s only my problem!)

If I were your dog and you dressed me up in a stupid costume for hallowe’en, I would bite you. There are better ways to raise money for good causes then anthropomorphically making your best friend look like a jerk. Just my humble opinion.
Trying to dress up a cat would lead to cat-tastrophe, for sure.
Kelly has conveyed to me that she doesn’t like being dressed up so I honor her wishes. My cat? Don’t even go there.
She would probably eat her costume.
However, this is for a very good cause and if your pet doesn’t mind, who is it hurting?
