Hands were slapping and fists were pumping at Tierney’s Tavern last night, not just for indie band El Kabong, but also to cheer for the New York Yankees, who swept the American League Division Series (ALDS) from the Twins in three games, and are now on their way to the American League Championship Series.
The Yankees have swept three other ALDS (1998, 1999 and 2009) and have gone on to win the World Series each of those times.
Brett Gardner finished last night’s game against the Twins with a catch in left field.
The team’s first home postseason game of 2010 got off to a good start when Baristaville’s own Yogi Berra threw out the ceremonial first pitch to Ramiro Pena.
Go Yanks!
