Read to end for ticket giveaway.

For the first time in her sustaining and mercurial career, Rickie Lee Jones will return to her beginnings and perform the music from her self-titled debut album and her follow-up project, Pirates, in their entirety, at the Bergen Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, December 8. The Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter will be joined by some special friends, many of whom performed on her original recordings.

Her 1979 debut record, Rickie Lee Jones, exploded on the charts with the success of the single, “Chuck E.’s In Love.” In 1981 Jones completed her second full album, Pirates, which also received critical and commercial success. Three decades later, both her singing and writing voices remain amongst the most distinctive and instantly recognizable in the industry.

Baristanet has a pair of tickets to give away for the 12/8 concert. To win, be the first to correctly answer the question below as a comment. Please don’t enter if you can’t go.

Is back where you used to know
If grown-ups could laugh this slow
Where as you watch the hour snow
Years may go by

    Hi,

One of my favorite songs from my all-time favorite artist. It’s On Saturday Afternoons in 1963 from her first album.

    Sorry, threeputt,

My hubby has first dibs. He’s not a fan of her newer music, but he does like the first two albums. (I’m dating myself by saying albums! lol)

belletones: I wish I had seen her in concert in 1979 or 1980, but back then I was one of those girls “who listened to records all day in their rooms” and didn’t get to concerts! I’ve seen a few of her recent shows in NYC and Ridgewood. I can’t wait to see her again, would love to meet her!

I'm starting to see that our political strife on this planet and definitely here on B'net is due to a lack or abundance of Oxytocin. We can't help what we do or think, our bodies, dna, etc. are running the show. We are meat puppets to our hormonal & chemical urges. In the words of the immortal Bela Lugosi...."Pull dee string, pull dee string!" PAZ in Ed Wood land.
