It may be Tuesday, but NJ Transit trains are still operating on an “enhanced weekend schedule,” meaning you need to type in Jan. 17, 2011 — Martin Luther King Day — in NJ Transit’s online schedule page to find out what trains are running to your area. After taking the day off yesterday, DeCamp is running, but Clever Commuters report the predictable delays you’d expect following a major blizzard.

Meanwhile, not all streets in Baristaville are plowed, and as you can see on our Great Snowplow Map, residents of Montclair were especially unhappy with plow service. Bruce Road in Montclair had not been plowed at 6 p.m. Monday. And at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Ashwood Terrace in West Orange was still unplowed.




I shuffled through my neighbor’s unshoveled walk to the corner, waited nearly an hour, in vain, for a DeCamp bus to arrive, shuffled home, shoveled my walk for the fourth time, shoveled my neighbor’s walk (he is probably lying on a beach somewhere laughing at me), made myself a cup of coffee, and now here I am, on the laptop, wondering about the meaning of it all. Focus, focus…
