This just in from Capt. James Miller at the Millburn Police:
On 1/29/2011 at approximately 9:28 AM the manager of Trader Joe’s, located at 187 Millburn Avenue reported that the store was in possession of two counterfeit ten dollar bills that someone passed on 1/28/2011. The bills were turned over to officers for further investigation.
On 1/27/2011 at approximately 5:51 PM the assistant manager of Hollister, located in The Mall at Short Hills reported that sometime between mid-afternoon and the time of the report unknown person(s) removed 15 bottles of SoCal fragrances with a combined value of $1,320.00.
On 1/26/2011 at approximately 11:56 AM a staff member of Abercrombie & Fitch, located in The Mall at Short Hills reported that between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM unknown person(s) removed a total of 32 bottles of Abercrombie & Fitch fragrance from a display table. The merchandise had a combined value of $1,440.00.
On 1/30/2011 at approximately 5:17 PM the Millburn Police responded to Tory Burch, located at The Mall at Short Hills on a report of a person attempting to return items that had recently been concealed on her person. The 35 year old woman from Newark was arrested for allegedly concealing three items with a combined value of $250.00 and bringing the merchandise to a cash register in an attempt to return the items for cash. She was charged with N.J.S.A. 2C: 20-11B(2) Shoplifting.
On 1/30/2011 at approximately 3:21 PM the Millburn Police were dispatched to Saks Fifth Avenue, located at The Mall at Short Hills on a report of an adult shoplifter. The 51 year old woman from Summit was arrested for allegedly concealing three articles of clothing with a combined value of $460.98. It is further alleged that she was in possession of marijuana. The suspect was charged with N.J.S.A. 2C: 20-11B(2) Shoplifting, N.J.S.A. 2C: 35-10A(4) Possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana and N.J.S.A. 2C: 36-2 Possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 1/29/2011 at approximately 2:56 PM the manager of Polo Ralph Lauren, located in The Mall at Short Hills reported that in the past ten minutes two females removed several stacks of clothing from store shelves and exited the store. It was reported that 29 items with a combined value of $3,971.00 were stolen. A search of the area failed to locate the actors.
On 1/26/2011 at approximately 4:01 PM the Millburn Police responded to ShopRite, located at 220 Main Street. It was reported that a man left the store with a bag of groceries without paying for the items. The value of the merchandise was unknown at the time of the report.
On 1/24/2011 at approximately 1:31 PM the assistant manager of ShopRite, located at 220 Main Street reported the theft of between $30.00 and $50.00 worth of razors and lotions by an unidentified male. It was reported that the theft occurred at 1:00 PM.
