This just in from the Montclair police:
Robbery Arrests
On 2/10/11 at approximately 8:50 PM, police were dispatched to the Montclair Taxi on Bloomfield Avenue on a report of a robbery that occurred on that date at approximately 8:15 PM. Upon arrival, police spoke to the victim, a twenty-eight year old Montclair resident, who stated that he had been robbed at an apartment complex on Glenridge Avenue by two black males. The victim then refused to provide any details of the robbery, but claimed that $135 cash had been taken from him. The victim continued to refuse to speak to officers on scene, but complained of pain in his back. He was transported to the hospital by members of MVAU.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, detectives identified Quadee Lapread and Norman Leftwich III as the suspects in this incident. On 2/15/11 at approximately 4:45 PM, detectives responded to an apartment on Glenridge Avenue and located both Lapread and Leftwich, placing both under arrest. Lapread, 30, of Montclair, was charged with robbery and aggravated assault, with bail set at $100,000. Leftwich, 29, of Montclair, was charged with robbery, with bail set at $100,000.

Further investigation also revealed that an individual identified as Tyree Barba had spoken to a person involved with the investigation and threatened the person if they spoke to the police regarding the robbery investigation. On 2/15/11 at approximately 5:05 PM, detectives located Barba at the Montclair High School and placed him under arrest. Barba, 18, of Montclair, was charged with terroristic threats and tampering with a witness. Bail was set at $100,000. All three are scheduled to be transferred to the Essex County Jail.

Diversity at it’s finest. The Montclair Police blotter reads like the script for a Charles Bronson movie.

40yrsinmtc, funny how you acknowledge that this is a sign of the times and that it is just going to get worse. But,in the budget post, you are in support of massive cuts to include 19 police officers.

I'm starting to see that our political strife on this planet and definitely here on B'net is due to a lack or abundance of Oxytocin. We can't help what we do or think, our bodies, dna, etc. are running the show. We are meat puppets to our hormonal & chemical urges. In the words of the immortal Bela Lugosi...."Pull dee string, pull dee string!" PAZ in Ed Wood land.
