Pepper Incident Sickens Several on Saturday Night

A Bloomfield man was arrested and charged with causing widespread injury, weapons possession, terroristic threats and criminal mischief on Saturday night, after allegedly spraying a neighbor with a can of pepper spray. Bail was set at $75,000 for Matthew Evans, 30, of 55 Monroe Place.

In addition to the neighbor Evans was having a dispute with, several other neighbors and one of the arresting police officers became ill during the incident; two people were taken to Mountainside Hospital with breathing problems Residents had to temporarily leave the building while it was being decontaminated.

    Saturday night maroonaticks on parade. Hope it wasn’t in front of that big vic on Belleville Ave. There goes the asking price!
