Have tons of paper you want to get rid of but don’t have the time (or patience) to shred by yourself? The Glen Ridge Library is hosting a Shredding Day Fundraiser at the Glen Ridge High School. Bring your paper and it will be quickly shredded by industrial shredders for recycling. Support the library, protect your privacy and the environment at the same time!
Saturday, April 23 9:00 – 1:00 pm
Glen Ridge High School Parking Lot
Sponsored by the Environmental Advisory Committee
$5 for paper that fits in a 11 x 17″ box, larger amounts $10 per box
All money benefits the Glen Ridge Library

these are great fundraisers. I went to one up in Sparta for the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice a few weeks ago. Great turnout and it beats shredding it all yourself!
I don’t need to shed right now, wait until the temperature rises a bit.
Oh, yes, we need to shred lots and lots of stuff that we left in our garage when we moved from Montclair last year. We have been trying to get back to do this, but since we have relocated to Europe, traveling back to Jersey has been highly improbable. If someone would go to our Aubrey Road home and locate the sixteen boxes of papers in the crawl space above the garage ceiling, and take them to this shredding event, we would be most grateful. Please make sure that all of the negatives are shredded, too, but watch out for the occasional 9mm bullets and electronic stuff. Please mail the receipt to Richard and Cynthia Murphy, care of Komitet Goudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti, 1 Lubyanka Square, Moscow, Russia.

good one, Conan
Funny, Conan!
You had me going for a while there, Conan. I thought you had really moved. D’oh!
Roo — question: why does your avatar not appear on my screen? It comes up as an empty box with another box with a red X nested in it. I know I have a parental block on anything from Fox News, but that’s the only local setting I can think of, and that wouldn’t apply to you. All the other avatars seem to show up fine; is anyone else having this problem?
