Trump Steps Out of Presidential Race

The presidential race may have just lost its most entertaining would-be candidate. Donald Trump announced that he’d be pulling out of the 2012 contest today. He did leave the pre-race followers with one last characteristically-cocky tidbit, though, stating that if he actually had tried for the office, he’d have won both the primary and the general election. Trump cites being devoted to private sector life as the reason for not seeking office.

Will you miss candidate Trump? Would he have had your vote?
Does this leave room for our own Chris Christie to step into the mix? If the governor does take Trump’s passed baton, will he be as entertaining?

Doubtful to me that our Guv will step into the void. I think these folks know that Obama is going to get re-elected big time in 2012 and they don’t want to be The New Big Loser. Come 2014 and the posturing for 2016 starts again without Obama in the picture, and they will be coming out of the woodwork.

How does a dreck-ish, nothing and nowhere item like this one fit into the “authentic local” scheme of things?

Good riddance Trump. A coward. Takes pot shots at everyone and then runs for cover when it comes time to throw his hat in the ring. Despite what he believes he would have got rolled.
As far as Christie, he has a job to do here and needs to prove he can do the job.
You just can’t serve a major office for 2 years blabber some populist rhetoric accomplish nothing and then run for President. Oh wait, ‘Yes We Can’ I’m wrong.

Trump was afraid he’d be asked to produce his birth certificate, which would be problematic, since he is probably from Mars.

I wouldn’t say he’s got lots of hair – although he does a lot of interesting sculptural work with what little is there.

I blame Obama. He should have gone easier on Trump, dragged it out a little longer. I’ll miss The Donald.

herbie my good man, can you serve a major office for 2 years, blabber a bunch of populist rhetoric, and run for VICE president?

And one could serve as President for eight years, blabber a bunch of swaggering rhetoric about tracking down Osama Bin Laden “dead or alive”, never do it, but tell people that you “don’t spend much time thinking” about him anymore.

The local angle could be Trump is the major investor behind Mayor Fried’s plan for DCH’s green hotel.

I'm starting to see that our political strife on this planet and definitely here on B'net is due to a lack or abundance of Oxytocin. We can't help what we do or think, our bodies, dna, etc. are running the show. We are meat puppets to our hormonal & chemical urges. In the words of the immortal Bela Lugosi...."Pull dee string, pull dee string!" PAZ in Ed Wood land.
