Wanna hear the sounds of Jersey Boys in Jersey? The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) is celebrating its fifth season with a one-night Gala bash featuring The Midtown Men – four stars from the original cast of the Broadway mega-hit musical, including South Orange’s own Christian Hoff.
Celebrating the music of the 1960’s with classic songs by the Beatles, Beach Boys, Motown, The Four Seasons and more, The Midtown Men will perform a line up from their highly anticipated 2011 concert on tour. “The 60s produced some of the greatest songs ever written,” said Hoff, who won the Tony Award for his portrayal of Four Seasons bad boy Tommy DeVito, “so we’re having a ball adding our own style to those great songs everyone loves.”
As part of SOPAC’s annual tradition, the Gala evening kicks off with a salute to four special honorees: Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr., Essex County Executive; Anthony Leitner, SOPAC Board President, and Nicholas Santoro, retired Director of Fine Arts for the South Orange/Maplewood School District. Patrick Morrissy, Executive Director of HANDS (Housing and Neighborhood Development Services, Inc.), will be receive the 2011 Jonathan Felsman Spirit Award.
