Elevation Burger Montclair celebrated its 2nd birthday on Thursday — and the special guests of honor were the patrons. In addition to the regular menu, a one day special menu (burger with huge selctions of topping options, fries and fountain drink for one special birthday price) and The Mad Hatter Balloon Show added to the fun for all.
Elevation Burger is committed to sustainability. The burgers are ground on site from organic free-range grass-fed beef. Fries are cooked in heart healthy olive oil. Decor features sustainable material including bamboo. The used cooking oil is even converted into bio-diesel. And while the restaurant has a bus stop in front, and is within walking distance for many in Montclair, there is free parking in back for those who chose less sustainable forms of transportation.
Elevation Burger started with one restaurant in 2002, franchises started in 2008. Locally owners Matt Jerkovich and Brian Edger opened Elevation Burger in 2009 and quickly became known for its fundraiser nights in which a percentage of sales are donated to a local charity or group. Elevation Montclair has raised funds for the Montclair-Nutley-Glen Ridge Chapter of the Red Cross, Project Graduation, The YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign among several others. Happy Birthday Elevation Burger.

My son must have eaten 200 of these burgers by now.
Has he done the Vertigo Burger yet?

Gimme a break!! It’s a BURGER & FRIES. Not hummus.
From my palatial Estate in UPPER Montclair– forgive me, but I’m not riding my bike, or walking for a (bad tasting) french fry cooked in Olive Oil.
I’ve been there once- when they opened, and have never once considered going back.
I LOVE that they are good neighbors, that will make me consider a return visit, but then I read the above quote and realize a simple fact: I only ask for one thing from my local burger joint– a good burger and fries. Sadly, Elevation loses.
Smashburger on the other hand is a gem. (Not a fan of the “peanuts everywhere” at 5 guys, with so many allergies, I think it’s irresponsible.)
Smashburger – gah!
I love Elevation Burger. Good, fresh burger and condiments. Smashburger’s fries are never hot and always dry. The burger there is not as tasty. Happy birthday Elevation!
Tierney’s burger blows ‘em all away.
