GR Pool Closes … Due to Heat

UPDATE: Assistant Manager of the GR pool, Andy Sammon, told Baristanet that the closure was a result of several employees — a few lifeguards and the pool manager, Jodi Schnack — developing symptoms of heat exhaustion and needing to leave. As of 4:00 p.m., the pool has re-opened.

“People haven’t been too happy about us closing, but the management deemed the working conditions to be unsafe,” Sammon told Baristanet. He had no information on the condition of the employees.

The Borough of Glen Ridge just announced that the town pool will be closed today, between 1:00 pm and 4:00 p.m., due to the extreme weather conditions. Are you too hot to swim?

Maybe Glen Ridge is not utopia after all. The Montclair pools have extended their hours due to the heat.

Okay, maybe it’s not so hilarious after all. I hope the lifeguards are feeling better.

I would love to see Santorum get the nod. Maybe then the politically comatose members of society will wake up.
