It’s not over, by a long shot. Winds are still gusting, thousands of Baristaville residents are without power, generators are roaring, basements are still deep in standing water, residents in Maplewood and Millburn don’t have drinking water after a NJAWC water main break and NJ Transit is going to try to get it together for a modified schedule tomorrow. But Carol Lintz of Montclair grabbed a few shots of a late-afternoon rainbow from her 7th floor Rockliffe Apartment as God or Whomever made a peace offering after two days of torrential rain.
It’s been a long day. Hope everyone has a good night sleep, whether you’re still in flashlight mode or not. I’m one of the unlucky four percent with a flooded basement and no electricity. But I am lucky enough to have good friends who’ve shared their power and their internet, and after getting up at 4 a.m. to try to cover the storm, was even able to sneak in an afternoon nap.
If you haven’t already, tell us how you weathered your storm, and what rainbows — real or figurative — came your way.
