Generators Stolen Day After Hurricane

Who would steal two generators from the back of a pickup truck the day after a hurricane? That’s what Bob Silver, developer of Hillside Square and Academy Square in Montclair, wants to know. And if you watch this video, and recognize the car, please report it to the Montclair police.

Silver tells us his project manager, who was working all weekend, borrowed two generators, which he used to pump out some power at Academy Square on Sunday. He didn’t have time to return them, and they were still his truck, when he reported to work at the Hillside Square construction site on Monday.

At 1:18 p.m. — as caught on the company’s surveillance video — two men in what looks like a black SUV came, removed the generators, loaded them into their car, and drove off.

Does the getaway car look familiar? Did you have anything stolen during the chaotic hours of the hurricane, or the hurricane cleanup?

the hatch was opening even while the dang car was still moving! ugh!

also – looks like tinted windows all around.
older model definitely, it does not seem to have the same tail lights as the later models.
But it almost looks like an older Envoy though… except for the door frames. the rear end looks a little long for a grand cherokee though, kinda too rounded. of course that could be an effect of the motion.

    Go get ‘em, Pete!

you’re right kay, it migh be a trail blazer. Definitely has some GM features. Also looks like it has an escalade grill. Possibly a Tahoe/ suburban Denali with an escalade kit on the front? Chrome rims, this shouldnt be hard to find. Im sure they were walking in the neighborhood, saw it and went and got the car. They rolled up with the tailgate open ready to do this. C’mon MPD, do we have to do everything here!

Who would steal them? Those generators had to be about as tempting as bottles of water in the Sahara. Theft is one of those evil things, no doubt, but leaving two generators in an open pickup, on the street, is very shortsighted.

Yeah jimmy, 47 is clear, and it does look Tahoe-ish. But that frame might be distorted (the mirror looks oddly large) so it might just look elongated in that frame. And I think the Tahoe is taller than this one.

The side panels and moulding still look Jeepish to me…

I would love to see Santorum get the nod. Maybe then the politically comatose members of society will wake up.
