Irene in Montclair: Widespread Flooding, Power Lines Down

NOTICE FROM THE MONTCLAIR OEM

Acting Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Coordinator Lt. Kenneth Miscia reports widespread flooding and numerous trees and power lines down, with resulting power outages throughout the Township.

Montclair OEM reminds residents that a State of Emergency is still in effect in Montclair and asks that people stay in their homes and not go out into the streets.

Tree down (top) is at Park and James Sts. in Montclair. In Baristaville, more extreme flooding (below) on Maolis, looking toward Bloomfield’s Watsessing Park.

    The hurricane is over and everyone wants to get out now.The only food store open in the area is The West Orange Shoprite in the Essex Green Plaza.Shelves are stocked and the meat case is full.

    Valley Rd under the trestle is open now-cars are whizzin by….RT 3 East-lots of “tree debris”…Kingsland Rd at Bloomfield Ave in Nutley (behind Hoffman La Roche) was flooded-a lot of the roads under RT 3 were flooded but not at Valley Rd/RT 3/RT 46
    Just a heads up-law enforcement is not real happy to see cars on the road.
