S.O.F.I.A. (Start Out Fresh Intervention Advocates)held its Walk Against Domestic Violence and Prayer on the Hill on Sunday, Sept. 10 at Montclair’s Canterbury Park.
S.O.F.I.A., created in honor of Monica Paul, provides advocacy, supportive services and temporary housing to “at risk” women and children of domestic violence.
Participants walked to promote domestic violence awareness, climbed a hill in the park for a prayer and then released balloons bearing the names of victims who passed away due to dating/domestic violence, terrorism or gun violence.
