Happy Birthday Little Falls! This Sunday, October 2, Little Falls will continue to celebrate its 300 year anniversary with a parade featuring clowns, vintage cars, floats, bands and a horse and carriage, as well as a picnic with a petting zoo and live band following the parade at Passaic Valley High School. The parade, which begins at School No. 3 in Singac, is sponsored by Schumacher Chevrolet.
Upcoming anniversary events include a performance about the history of Little Falls on October 14, the grand re-opening of the Morris Canal Preserve on October 16, a pA program about the history of Little Falls presented by The Little Falls Historical Society at The Little Falls Civic Center on November 2 and the Grand 300 Dinner Dance at il Tulipano Restaurant on November 27 (the date Little Falls was established.)
Little Falls Mayor Michael DeFrancisci kicked off the anniversary celebrations on September 24 when he unveiled a commemorative poster by local artist, John Veteri, Sr., and read a proclamation announcing the event. For more information, visit www.lfnj.com.

I guess I am missing something, that is apparent to others …
I notice from time-to-time info pertaining to Little Falls.
I don’t care but is seems unusual to me, since it’s not in Essex County.
It would be akin to info pertaining to, say… Livingston or Cedar Grove or North Caldwell, which are at least in the same county.
Sandy, for what it’s worth, from a Montclair perspective, Little Falls is just over the hill, just a few minutes drive.
Oh, okay – but so is Cedar Grove, right?
I was in Little Falls, just once, when I lived in Maplewod. I went there to pick up an auto part that was obsolite, and via phone, I found a place there that had one. What a schlep that was! Essex County is pretty large !!
Yup, Sandy, Cedar Grove is an adjoining neighbor, as is cathar’s beloved Clifton.
Where is cathar, by the way?
VACATIONING IN CLIFTON !!!
So, I got to thinking where my family spends most of their money and / or time. We live in Bloomfield, 9 houses over the Glen Ridge boundry, south of Blmfd. Ave. So, for food shopping, W.O. or Livingdton Shop Rites, otherwise for other things, Millburn (shoes), Clothes W.O. or Livingston, sneakers is Bloomfield, Doctor is in West Caldwell & Livingston, cars and/or servicing is Verona, dentist is in Blmfd. That’s pretty much where we ”
fly around in our circles”.
How about the fact that a good portion of MSU is located in Little Falls? Does that count Sandy?
Some very strange perspectives displayed by the principal writers for this blog. Perhaps dictated by the commercial interests of the owners. Long time residents of Montclair always had close relationships with Verona, Cedar Grove, Little Falls, the Caldwells, West Orange and Glen Ridge. Bloomfield was in the same “foreign” category (whatever that was) with Newark, Nutley, and the other Oranges.
How about the fact that a good portion of MSU is located in Little Falls? Does that count Sandy?
Yes, and so does Seton Hall that is in Essex County, in South Orange. After all if you pin-point the Glen Ridge – Montclair boundry…from that point to Little Falls is further than if one were to pin-point the Glen Ridge – Orange boundry to Seton Hall in South Orange, which I know is just 4 miles.
I have nothing against Little Falls, honestly – it just seems (to me) perhaps as Millburn might seem to you (?) and Millburn is in our county.
(Essex). Little Falls just seems to be outta the “loop”. Sorta like perhaps Clifton or Springfield or Union.
