Due to the damages caused by Hurricane Irene, a portion of Brookside Park’s “tot-lot” area has been temporarily closed. Fencing and signage has been installed to designate the affected portion. Bloomfield Recreation Dept. asks for your cooperation in staying out of this area until the damages are repaired.

The Township of Bloomfield and the recreation department is committed to providing a safe and secure area for you and your children to enjoy. We, along with township officials, are formulating plans to fix the problem in a quick, efficient and cost effective manner.

We recognize that this playground is used everyday and it is one of the main attractions of Brookside Park. Rest assured that we are working on getting this situation resolved quickly so you can enjoy the park.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Bloomfield Recreation Department at 973-743-9074.

Will they be checking for contamination coming from the Brookside Garden Center and transferred to the park by flooding.

Some of the contaminants listed in the Environmental report submitted by T-Mobile in their application to the Zoning Board are pretty impressive and include:

    Dibromofluoromethane
    2-Dichloroethane-D4 %
    Toluene
    Trichloroethene
    4-Bromofluorobenzene
    Benzo(a)pyrene
    Benzo(b)fluoranthene
    Benzo(g,h,i)perylene
    Benzo(k)fluoranthene
    Acenaphthylene
    Acenaphthene
    Vanadium
    Arsenic
    Chromium
    Mercury
    Chromium

**There is still concerns about the contaminates from the Brookside Garden Center reported in the NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act – http://www.epa.gov/region2/spmm/r2nepa.htm ) report provided by T-Mobile in their application of erecting a 120 ft. Cell Monopole at the Brookside Garden Center 551 Broad Street Bloomfield.

**If you would like a copy of the contamination and underground storage tanks reports, please email nobroadbaycelltower@gmail.com and we will provide it to you.

**The NEPA report was all brought up at the Cell Tower meeting held in June and questioned by the public and the Bloomfield Zoning Board. The Zoning Board requested the firm responsbile for the report be available for questioning.

**T-Mobile adjourned the July meeting and now they are asking for a special meeting to be held for October.

I'm starting to see that our political strife on this planet and definitely here on B'net is due to a lack or abundance of Oxytocin. We can't help what we do or think, our bodies, dna, etc. are running the show. We are meat puppets to our hormonal & chemical urges. In the words of the immortal Bela Lugosi...."Pull dee string, pull dee string!" PAZ in Ed Wood land.
