Sockin’ It to Mayor Fried

No matter what you think of his politics, there is something endearing about a guy who wears an oxford shirt and a tie to get dunked in a carnival game. Here’s a shot — supplied by Montclair Deputy Mayor Kathryn Weller-Demming, no less –  of Mayor Jerry Fried waiting to be plunged into the dunking tank at Aunt Jean’s 4th annual block party yesterday , which raised money for the Montclair High School Class of 2012. Weller-Demming, who also sat in the dunking chair, says she lost track of how many times she and Fried went into the tank. But Jeannette Lauture, owner of Aunt Jean’s, says each was dunked between four and six times. Altogether the fair raised several hundred dollars for the graduating class.

I love that he’s a good enough sport to do this. I also think it’s great that he dresses appropriately for his role as Mayor and a representative of the town.

Did the mayor put on a fresh shirt and tie after each dunking? Inquiring minds want to know…

What would the people in China think if they saw their ambassador here? All kidding aside, he was a good sport.

I'm starting to see that our political strife on this planet and definitely here on B'net is due to a lack or abundance of Oxytocin. We can't help what we do or think, our bodies, dna, etc. are running the show. We are meat puppets to our hormonal & chemical urges. In the words of the immortal Bela Lugosi...."Pull dee string, pull dee string!" PAZ in Ed Wood land.
