Cat Found on Glen Ridge-East Orange Border

A reader writes that he found a male cat yesterday, October 12, in East Orange on Brighton Avenue, about a block from the Glen Ridge border. He’s neutered and very friendly and “living it up in my house (he’s eaten his fifth can of food in 24 hours).” He didn’t want to post a picture as the cat appears to have suffered from some neglect.

If you know anything about this cat, please contact pets@baristanet.com.

If you go down Ridgewood Avenue, it leads into East Orange.

Karen: I asked the person who found him if he’ll send me more info. He seemd reluctant to do so. At any rate, this sounds like a cat whose owners have neglected and/or abandoned him. :-(

    From Wikipedia:

    Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), all of it land. It is bounded by Bloomfield, Montclair and East Orange.

Glen Ridge at the most six blocks wide. In the borough north of Bay Avenue, “the Panhandle”, it is only three or two blocks wide.

Sandy, I know of what I speak. I run down that road all the time. When I get to the end of Ridgewood Avenue, I am in East Orange. But don’t take my word for it, my husband grew up in that area.

Midland Ave. and Glen Park Road touch at the Glen Ridge and East Orange border, Sandy. Probably a few other streets too.

    Okay.
so, if I am driving on Ridgewood , heading away from G.R and I come to Thomas Blvd. juat past the traffic light, by the last houuse on Ridgewood, I am in E.O. and not Orange ?? I know that the corner facing the bus garage is Orange, so the 2 tenths of a mile between Ridgewood AND the bus garage is E.O. Yes ?? Okay,if yousay so,I will believe…

Fair Street is the dividing line on Mildand between GR and EO. The north side of Glen Park Road (which is at the end of Sommer, Hawthorne, and Victor in GR) is Glen Ridge, the south side is EO. Orange does not abut Glen Ride anywhere; the Thomas Blvd stretch by the cemetary and satellite place is East Orange. I think it becomes Orange when you cross Dodd Street, by the bus terminal.

It’s a very short walk from the south end of GR into Bloomfield, EO, Orange, and Montclair. You can hit all 5 on a 20 minute stroll if you start at Carteret Park.

I'm starting to see that our political strife on this planet and definitely here on B'net is due to a lack or abundance of Oxytocin. We can't help what we do or think, our bodies, dna, etc. are running the show. We are meat puppets to our hormonal & chemical urges.
