Here’s a big coup for the Montclair International Film Festival. (And it doesn’t hurt that Evelyn Colbert is on the board.) The MIFF has announced a fundraiser headlining Montclair comedian Stephen Colbert on Friday Dec. 2 at the Wellmont. Jonathan Alter is featured as a “special guest.” His wife Emily Lazar is a producer of the Colbert Report.

Tickets go on sale Friday Oct. 21 at noon. $125, $95, $45 & $35 — with $500 Premium Tickets to be be sold through the Montclair Film Festival, which entitle the holder to pre-show cocktails with Colbert himself.

500 bucks to shake Colbert’s hand? What an elitist! I suppose that’s consistent with his “personality.” I hope MIFF is giving out subsidized tickets to those in need.

You gotta love this town. For all the talk about inclusiveness, the price to sit at the cool table is 500 bucks. Lower than Millburn and Englewood, perhaps, so we can still feel good about ourselves.

Hmm, pay $500 plus buy a drink for Colbert to talk to me? Or ring his doorbell on Halloween and have him buy me a candy bar and put it in my pillow case. Decisions, Decisions.

I’m going for the Halloween option.

I'm starting to see that our political strife on this planet and definitely here on B'net is due to a lack or abundance of Oxytocin. We can't help what we do or think, our bodies, dna, etc. are running the show. We are meat puppets to our hormonal & chemical urges. In the words of the immortal Bela Lugosi...."Pull dee string, pull dee string!" PAZ in Ed Wood land.
