Montclair’s Danger Zones and Traffic Light Outages from Snoctober

The Montclair Police Department provides below a list of some of the areas in town that may be dangerous to pedestrian and vehicular traffic:
• 35 Central Avenue – Live wire across the roadway still arcing
• Eaglerock at South Mountain – Live across the roadway still arcing
• Willowdale at Linden- Live wire across the roadway still arcing

The traffic signals out at:
• Park and Claremont
• Valley at Claremont
• Watchung and Grove
• Alexander and Grove Tree limbs that have partially broken from trees still present a risk and should be avoided as well.

    I saw many firemen clearing trees and branches from roads and helping the utility company- all volunteers in Verona and Cedar Grove! Did not see even one of Montclair’s paid 90+ firemen out of their vehicles assisting with the emergency. At least we citizens now know we can survive with a greatly reduced department.
