As you’ve probably heard by now, we are expecting snow tomorrow. Yes, snow. And yes, it’s not even Halloween yet.
The forecast is calling for rain and snow, possibly up to three inches in our area, and between 6-10 inches in other parts of New Jersey. A winter storm watch is in effect for Sussex, Warren, Morris and western Passaic counties, and parts of Pennsylvania, New York, and much of New England are also expected to get dumped on.
The Associated Press is reporting that motorists should expect slippery travel, and that trees which still have leaves could be vulnerable to damage, posing a threat to power lines. (This is worst-case scenario, of course. As we all know, weather forecasts are often wrong.)
If the snow does come, it’s not expected to stick around here for long, as temperatures will rise to the mid to high 40s by Sunday.
Still, it’s unusual to get snow this early in this part of the country. New York City generally sees its first “measurable snow” in December. The last time a measurable amount of snow appeared in October in the city was in 1876. So perhaps we are about to experience an historic moment. But for those of us still reeling from last winter’s neverending snowstorms, we wish the snow would wait a few more months. Besides, if it snows, what will we wear to Booo-ristanet?

Darn! I plan to do the 5K Race for Cervical Cancer tomorrow at Jake’s and was going to wear cats’ ears. I’ll probably still do the race but I’ll most likely have to wear warmer head gear.
MM you can still wear your cat ears over your hat
Have a safe run!
I will certainly try!
