Update 7:51 Mounties score another one at the beginning of the 4th: now leading Bengals 51-7.
Update 7:17: Going into halftime, the Mounties are dominating the game, leading Bengals 44-7.
Update: Bengals intercepted the ball 7:27 into the 2nd quarter and scored. The score now Mounties 28, Bengals 7.
Doreen Sarcone is at Foley Field sending pictures and news from the big Montclair v. Bloomfield game. The undefeated Montclair team, which scored almost immediately, now leads 21 to 0 with just a few minutes left in the first quarter.
The weather cooperated for the 6 p.m. kickoff. Teams are playing for the Investors Bank Cup and the MVP from each team will get a $500 scholarship.

DAMN! Those freaking Mounties were the bane of my existence when at BHS. How many Thanksgivings were ruined by Mounty wins? My senior year the game ended in a tie score and the best we could brag about was that they tied us. Of course that was 40+ years ago, so who really care?
Cares. It’s ‘who really cares?’ sigh.
Mellonbrush and I were in the BHS class of 1970, when Bloomfield finally beat Montclair. The crowd was very happy. Not sure what the record has been over recent years, however. May all have a lively Thanksgiving!
When I was a kid, My father would take me to the Bloomfield-Montclair game on Thanksgiving morning; I remember freezing at Foley Field a few times. Congrats, Montclair!
