The Essex County Prosecutor’s office announced today that the body found at South Mountain Reservation has been identified as Gregory Kongor, 47, of Millburn. Mr. Kongor previously resided in Bethlehem, Pa. and Catasauqua, Pa.

In a press release issued this afternoon the office said,

“The investigation is active and ongoing but preliminary information indicates Mr. Kongor was living in Millburn at the time of his death. It appears he had been missing since the summer.  His body was discovered in a heavily wooded area of South Mountain Reservation by a woman walking her dog. The official cause of death is pending. No other information is available at this time.”
