Valentine’s Day on Montclair’s Valley Road

Stores have been closing, so it’s good to see lovebirds moving into a vacant Upper Montclair storefront, next door to The Learning Express.

Paper Boutique, opening moving from Bellevue Ave into the Valley Road space, encourages you to do more than “tweet” your love on Valentine’s Day. So what will you do or hope to receive? Vote or tell us in comments.

About 25 years ago I read something in the Village Voice I have never forgotten. A writer said V-day was “a collective spasm of heterosexual love.”. I am a hetero and I agree.. while it is a sign of the more evolved times that all sexual orientations embrace it these days, I find it an unbelievably annoying spasm indeed. I am not loved more bc Halmark gave my spouse a reason to part with $. Yup, I am a V-day Scrooge.

More liberal lunacy. And no mention of the tree ordinance? (you will no longer be in charge of the landscaping of your property). No mention of the Bike Locker ordinance rearing it's ugly head again? I imagine the pay-reaises for non-union employees is a moot issue. Given the proclivities of the incoming council, there probably won't be non-union employees much longer.
