Live music has been popping up all over Montclair lately. Yesterday, the scene was The Crane Park Festival. This annual event brings the neighborhood outdoors, to the triangle park at Glen Ridge Avenue and Lackawanna Plaza, to to share a day of music, (pictured band, Sheriff Ariff & The Wali Sanga) food and fun. The continuous musical performances the family friendly activities and the pleasant temperatures resulted in a perfect autumn afternoon in the park. Take a look at the slide show and see for yourself.

Great music festival–thanks to Joann Smalls, of Backstage Productions, for all her hard work to pull this together and make it happen!
It looked like a nice event, but, I remember when merchants’ booths would line the entire park, and there would be many more people…the music, however, I’m sure was very cool.
Bummer… I was stuck at work yesterday. Looks like I missed a good one!

This park needs a community group similar to the one recently formed for Watchung Park. Planting beds receive little or no maintenance. The capping stones are falling off all of the masonry walls. It is in real need of help. It could be so much better.
Yes. Yes. Yes. montclairskier. You need to volunteer. Your friends need to volunteer. Business & residents neeed to work together to bring this neighboorhood to its fullest potential. Will you step up? I will.
