The first local casualty of Hurricane Sandy? The goblins, ghouls and scary creatures that make up the spooktacular display on Grove Street. Clifton dentist Halloween decorator Dr. Wayne Gangi had to remove his elaborate Halloween decorations late yesterday before Sandy could sweep them away.
Just like the Grinch who stole Halloween, all that remains are a few googly eye decorations spared by Hurricane Sandy.
Gangi was having trouble earlier this month because of all the attention (traffic) his display causes. The dentist reportedly hands out some 3,000 candies to treaters each year and his gory display is a must-see treat on Halloween.

Now THAT’s scary!
Vanished. LIke magic.
Dr. Gangi is right up the block from us, and we look forward to his display every year. Damned Sandy.
I drove by as he was taking it all down. I would pay $1000 bucks for a tour of the inside of his house.
Now his house is boring, not BOO-ring.
THE TERRORISTS HAVE WON!!!
Posted this news last night (credit?) after we got back from seeing the decorations just as they started taking them down. Had been speculating this would happen though seeing the reaction on neighbors’ faces when they looked out their windows and saw huge spiders/fake corpses strewed all over their lawns post storm would have been interesting to say the least.
