Six-time Grammy-nominated Cuban composer and pianist Omar Sosa and celebrated Italian trumpet and flugelhorn player Paolo Fresu will perform from their latest album Alma at SOPAC on Friday, February 1 and Baristanet has two tickets to give away to one lucky reader.
5000 miles and the Atlantic Ocean separate Sardinia and Cuba, birth places of Paolo Fresu and Omar Sosa. Yet these two improvisers and genius composers found a way to eliminate the distance to form an unusual duo. Their latest album Alma celebrates this new collaboration:
All the compositions on Alma are written by Omar Sosa and Paolo Fresu, except for “Under African Skies,” a version of the popular track from Paul Simon’s Graceland.
Want to win tickets to see the duo whose latest album has been called, “a work of art of full of life, love and soul. This is music worth savoring.”?

Omar Sosa is brilliant and I hope to see you all there. I myself intend to bring my dear wife of twenty years.
My son appreciates music of the world, as well as jazz. He would groove on this music.
I would take my niece. She is really into the arts and I try to encourage her by taking her to see as many live shows as I can.
