Be warned! Do not leave your car unattended while you warm it up in your driveway Several cars were stolen last week when owners did that. Also, think twice before picking up hitchhikers. A Montclair man did, only to have them pull a gun on him and rob him.

What?!…..No jaywalkers with children in tow! I guess only sainted people live in Montclair?
that button
Guns, drugs, grand theft auto… Welcome to Montclair, New Jersey!
Get a remote starter. You don’t live in Pleasantville. And when a gun is pointed at your face, as traumatic as it may be at the time, look down the barrel. Most of these kids are using BB guns because it’s less of a crime than using a 9mm. Oh, and don’t pick up hitchhikers… because again, this isn’t Pleasantville!
“Twenty two year old Travis Hubbard of Montclair, Twenty one year old Marquis Staton of Montclair and two juveniles were all charged accordingly..”
And may each and everyone of these losers be sentenced accordingly.
If you need to warm up your car, why not at least lock the steering wheel with a club ?
As they walked toward the bank the victim ran away and immediately dialed 911 from his cell phone.
Holy cr@p! Amazed that someone would even have the nerve to do this, and thanks to their courage the perps were caught!! yahoo!
PS. Jimmy, how does one tell the difference between a BB gun and a real handgun? (I haven’t seen a BB gun since I was a child shooting at pie pans hanging from my cousin’s avocado tree. They looked more like a tiny rifle!)
Actually Redrum, welcome to the world
@ kAY – “how does one tell the difference between a BB gun and a real handgun?”
Be careful, you’ll shoot your eye out!
LOL Silver, I seem to recall hearing that a lot!!
(looking back, we sure got away with a lot of stuff that I would *never* let my kids do now! how’s that for a double-standard!)
If you have to leave your vehicle while it’s running get an extra ignition key. Start the car with the extra key and use your regular keys to LOCK the car doors while you’re away. I’ve done this at home and in NYC and never had any problems.
Silverleaf…..I got a few more buttons from my collection from whence that one came. The sad part is I got them in real time (except for Willkie).
PAZ – I have a blue and white “Students for Stevenson – Kefauver” button from the August ’56 Democratic Convention in Chicago. My uncle was a law student at Northwestern at the time and campaigned for Stevenson.
Ike and Nixon kicked some pretty good butt in November winning the popular vote by a pretty wide margin of something like 15 percent and carrying a vast majority of the states; the EV count was similarly skewed. Stevenson even failed to carry his home state of Illinois if I am not mistaken. Needless to say, my uncle was not a happy camper in ’56 and he still speaks about it with some acrimony.
As for Willkie, not sure who his veep running mate was in ’40, but he was handily defeated FDR.
When the police get these stolen car reports I wonder if they issue tickets for violating the states idling laws?
