The Opera Theatre of Montclair is raising funds to present Giuseppe Verdi’s “Nabucco” in the Fall of 2013. The group’s General Director, Mia Riker-Norrie, invites the public to attend a Fundraiser Concert and Opera Party.

The event will be held on Saturday, January 26, from 7-10 PM, at 32 Cloverhill Place in Montclair. The fundraiser will feature a cocktail hour, concert and dessert reception. Suggested minimum donation is $25.00 per person.

Singers will include Mia Riker-Norrie, soprano; Alan Smulen, baritone; Maurizio Casa, tenor; and Angel Feliciano, tenor. Also featured will be Zachary Hatcher and Violetta Norrie on  harp and Rebecca Eng on piano.

Riker-Norrie says the Opera Theatre will be doing fundraiser “Opera Parties” on a monthly basis. Please let her know if you’d be interested in opening your home for an event.

Thank you so much, Baristanet, for spreading the word. Our first fundraiser concert/party was a lot of fun and a great success for a new effort. We raised over $500.00. We will keep you posted regarding next month’s concert fundraiser.

Glad to hear there was a grant. It was an insane amount of $ that was proposed to come out of town coffers. Good job, BID!
